About this piece
Sal is dense, oily and dimensionally stable, which is why Newari carvers have used it for centuries. It arrives unfinished; the colour will deepen from honey to a dark red-brown over about two years.
Hanging hardware is not fitted — the back is flat and takes a French cleat cleanly.
