About this piece
Full-size Bhairav masks are worn in the Indra Jatra and Bisket Jatra festivals. This is a smaller wall version carved from the same pattern.
Painted with mineral pigment rather than acrylic, which gives flatter, chalkier colour. The gilding on the crown is applied leaf.

Care & keeping
Dust with a soft dry brush. Once or twice a year, wipe with a cloth barely damp with linseed or walnut oil. Keep away from radiators and direct sun, which will open the grain.
